Our UK team were happy to supply the first model of the new EK-TRON range in the UK to a large and prestigious poultry processing company in the north of England.
The new gas burner –an EK-TRON 6.400 G-EF3, operating in fully electronic configuration and equipped with frequency converter- replaced the previous inefficient model that was installed on the factory's main steam source, a Dennis Baldwin YSX400-25 Yorkshireman steam boiler.
The installation of the new EK-TRON burner turned out to be a straightforward process with no issues: the integration with the original control system and the steam boiler was seamless thanks to the specifications and matching laid out by the customer, and the commissioning of such a critical part of the factory's overall production system was handled sensitevely and was carried out over a two-day period, so as not to interrupt the factory's production, which was kept at full capacity at all times.
With commissioning completed and the burner delivered to the site team, the installation ran for over 21 consecutive hours and, as the new burner is fitted with an inverter on the main combustion fan, it was found that it only needed to run at 25 Hz, saving half the electricity required to keep the boiler at full load, immediately halving the electrical running cost.
